KOTAHI IS BACK... FOR THE LAST TIME!

In 2024, we’re hosting Kotahi again on Waitangi Day, Tuesday 6 February!

WHAT IS KOTAHI?

Kotahi is a music festival hosted by the Kahurangi School and Kahurangi Friends for the Strathmore community at our school. The first festival was held in 2014 (shoutout to founders Amanda Hereaka and Simon Bowden) and since then we’ve held 8 festivals over the last 9 years.

Kotahi is not a school fundraising event but a free, all access event put on with grant money sourced from the Wellington City Council, the Wellington Airport and the Ministry for Culture and Heritage.  

Kahurangi School opens the event with our Kapa Haka group (entire school) performing and it’s a highlight for all.

The amazing line up for Kotahi 2024 includes Mara TK, Sam Manzanza’s Afro beat, Bret McKenzie, the City of Wellington Pipe Band and more.....!

WHAT IS KAHURANGI FRIENDS? Kahurangi Friends is a group made up of parents and caregivers of children from Kahurangi School. It’s a charitable trust that supports the school by applying for funding for projects and delivering them, like Kotahi and the Breakfast Club, running fun events like the school disco, giving feedback on school policies and processes and lots more.
